CHICAGO, Ill. – The men's volleyball team was unable to edge No. 8 Loyola-Chicago on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to the Hamblers at the Gentile Arena.
Casey White led the Crimson (0-2) attack with seven kills, while Brad Gretsch and Erik Johnsson added seven kills apiece. Matthew Ctvrtlik added 18 assist to lead Harvard, with support from Chase Howard and Grestch who registered 6 digs each.
A strong effort by the Loyola-Chicago attack (.407), helped the host Hamblers to a three-set victory – 26-24, 25-17, 25-14. The Crimson were held to a .146 attack percentage on the afternoon, despite a standout first set (.233). Harvard falls to 0-3-0 in the all-time series against the Hamblers.
The Crimson returns home for a five-match stretch. On Jan. 19, Harvard faces Fort Wayne at 7 p.m. and quickly returns to action the next day against Ball State at 7 p.m.
