CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Senior Matt Jones of the No. 15 Harvard men's volleyball team earned his third EIVA weekly award and his first Defensive Player of the Week honor as he tallied 11 blocks and 12 digs combined against NJIT and Rutgers-Newark this weekend.
Jones has put an exclamation point on his senior season as he has recorded 331 kills this season and is the new Harvard career kills leader with 1204 through his four-year career.
Jones is prolific in the conference when it comes to statistical categories as he currently stands second in kills per set with 3.80 while he is fourth in service aces per set with 0.43.
With its win against Rutgers-Newark on Saturday Harvard wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the EIVA tournament and wait to see who it will play in the first round. The Crimson's first round match will take place on April 26 and will be hosted by Penn State.
