HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team fell at Juniata Saturday afternoon, 3-0. The loss drops Harvard to 6-3 overall.
Juniata jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the opening set after three Harvard attack errors and a service ace from Alex McColgin. Juniata used strong attacking, converting 42.9 percent of its attempts, to capture a 25-15 set victory.
Harvard kept things close early in the second set, tying the score at 5-5 after the first ten points. Juniata continued it hot hitting though, converting 42.3 percent of its attack attempts in the second set to grab a 25-18 win.
Juniata continued its strong play, replicating the 25-18 score in the third set and earning the match victory. Juniata attacked at just under 40 percent for the entire match, led by 10 kills from McColgin. Chris Gibbons and Matt Jones each had a team-high eight kills for Harvard.
The Crimson returns home to take on Sacred Heart Feb. 26. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
