Men's Tennis Claims Victories in Singles and Doubles to Conclude Fall Season
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard men's tennis team concluded its fall season at Chowder Fest with tournament victories in both singles and doubles play. Earning championships for the Crimson were first-year Henry von der Schulenburg in singles and the pairing of first-year Ronan Jachuck and sophomore Harris Walker in doubles.
Von der Schulenburg went 3-0 through tournament play, earning a hard-fought three-set victory, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0, over Brandon Perez of Virginia Tech. Seniors Galen Lee and Logan Weber, junior Constantin Zoske, sophomores Bo Leschly and Walker and first-year Alan Yim also won their singles matches on the final day of play.
Jachuck and Walker went undefeated, capturing a 3-0 record, to win the doubles title.
"Chowder Fest was a great way to end the fall season," said the Scott Mead '77 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Tennis Andrew Rueb. "We competed against some Power-5 teams and saw how much we have improved throughout the fall. This team has set some high goals and we look forward to putting in the work to achieve them."
- Von der Schulenburg will finish the fall season with an 11-3 record.
- Leschly and Zoske also went undefeated in singles play.
- The Crimson did not lose a singles or doubles match against Boston University during the tournament.
The Crimson will kick off its spring season with matches against Purdue and Army in West Point, N.Y. on Sunday, January 19.
