Men’s Tennis Heads to Georgia for Southern Intercollegiate Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's tennis team will travel to Athens, Ga. for the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament, Sept. 27-29, hosted by the University of Georgia. Competing for the Crimson will be first-years Ronan Jachuck and Henry von der Schulenburg, junior Lane Leschly and senior captain Logan Weber.

Harvard will face players from 12 different teams, including Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois and Texas.

Schedule
Friday, Sept. 27
Doubles matches begin at 8:30 a.m.
Singles matches begin in the afternoon.

Saturday, Sept. 28
Doubles matches begin at 8:30 a.m.
Singles matches will follow the conclusion of doubles.

Sunday, Sept. 29
Doubles finals will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Singles finals and consolation finals will follow the conclusion of doubles.

What to Know 

  • Jachuck advanced to the finals of the Solinco Wild Card Shoot Out in his first tournament appearance with the Crimson on Sept. 15 at the Napa Valley Classic.
  • Von der Schulenburg won his first match at Harvard, defeating Mattias Siimar of Michigan in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) on Sept. 13 at the Napa Valley Classic.
  • Leschly won his first match of the season against Tatsuki Shimamoto (Miami, Fla.) in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) on day one of the Ivy Plus Tournament, Sept. 20.
