CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—After splitting decisions on the road, the Harvard men's tennis team returns to Cambridge for a three-match homestand at the Murr Center. The Crimson opens up the weekend hosting Vanderbilt on Feb. 1 at 3 p.m., continuing the action on Feb. 2 with a doubleheader against Penn State (12 p.m.) and Boston University (7 p.m.).
What to Know
-Last weekend, the Crimson traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take on Auburn and Alabama. Harvard swiftly beat the Tigers, 6-1, but fell to the then No. 21 Crimson Tide, 4-2.
-In a tough bout against Alabama, Wrzesinski posted a dominant straight-sets 7-6(5), 6-3 victory over No. 41 Patrick Kaukovalta. Wrzesinski closed out the weekend going 2-0 in singles.
-The Crimson holds an all-time 4-1 record over the Commodores heading into Friday's match.
-This weekend marks the first time the two teams will meet since 2010, when Harvard blanked Penn State, 4-0. The Crimson is 17-1 all-time against the Nittany Lions.
-Entering this weekend, Harvard remains undefeated against cross-town rival BU. The last time the teams met in 2018, the Crimson defeated the Terriers, 5-2, at home.
The Crimson is back on the road, traveling to the Midwest for dual matches against Northwestern on Feb. 9 and Western Michigan on Feb. 10.
