Men’s Tennis Travels to Princeton, Yale for Ivy Plus Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Harvard men's tennis returns to the courts this weekend, Sept. 21-23, for the Ivy Plus Invitational co-hosted by Princeton and Yale. Crimson players will be split for the weekend, competing at the Lenz Tennis Center in Princeton, N.J. and the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn.

What to Know

  • At last year's Ivy Plus Invitational, sophomore Lucas Koelle had a strong showing, reaching the final of the Princeton draw in both singles and doubles.
  • In New Haven last year, doubles pair Constatin Zoske and Andy Zhou went undefeated in both singles and doules play throughout the weekend.
  • The Crimson hosted Old Dominion, Indiana and Texas Tech last weekend at the 2018 Chowder Fest tournament, with captain Zhou securing the singles title for Flight 2 and the duo of Logan Weber and Brian Shi winning the Flight 1 doubles title.
  • Last season, the Crimson finished 21-7, going 4-3 against conference opponents.

At the Helm

In August, Andrew Rueb '95 was announced as the Scott Mead '77 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Tennis. Elevated to the position after 11 years with the Crimson, Rueb was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year as well as a captain his senior year at Harvard. He was also a four-time All-Ivy first team nominee, twice in singles and twice in doubles.
