Five Men’s Tennis Players Earn All-Ivy Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. – After tallying a 20-win season for the first time since 2012, five members of the No. 31 Harvard men's tennis team have received All-Ivy honors, as announced by the league today. Kenny Tao was named to the All-Ivy first team in both singles and doubles, while Logan Weber also earned first team honors in doubles. Andy Zhou was tabbed to the All-Ivy second team in singles, while Jean Thirouin and Robert Wrzesinski were named to the second team in doubles as well.

Senior co-captain Tao played at No. 1 singles for the Crimson throughout the year, finishing the regular season with a 16-4 overall record and 13-2 mark in spring dual action to earn All-Ivy honors for the second straight year. A native of San Jose, Calif., Tao teamed with sophomore Weber in the No. 1 doubles spot all season. The duo concluded the regular season with a 13-9 tally, including a 4-2 mark in conference play. Tao and Weber consistently earned a spot in the ITA Division I rankings, reaching as high as No. 40 in the nation.

Junior Zhou earned his first All-Ivy honors after concluding the season with a 23-10 overall record and 15-7 mark in spring dual action. In the No. 2 spot for the Crimson, the Palo Alto, Calif., native earned his first and highest national ranking of the season the week of Nov. 15, reaching No. 99.

Senior co-captain Jean Thirouin and freshman Robert Wrzesinski dominated at No. 3 doubles for the Crimson this season. Tallying a 6-0 record in spring dual action, including a 4-0 mark in conference play, the duo earned their first All-Ivy honors of their careers.

Harvard qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 25th time in program history the year, traveling to USC to face Oklahoma State in the first round on Saturday, May 12 at 3 p.m.
