Men's Tennis Edged By No. 25 Cornell, 4-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's tennis team (16-9, 4-1 Ivy League) saw its seven-match winning streak come to an end in a hard-fought 4-2 defeat against No. 25 Cornell (19-3, 4-1 Ivy League) at the Beren Tennis Center. Harvard and Cornell are now tied atop the league standings with one weekend left of league play.

Harvard once again won the doubles point, continuing an outstanding season of doubles action with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Sebastian Beltrame and Jean Thirouin earned a 6-2 win against Lev Kazakov and David Volfson. Then Christopher Morrow and Logan Weber clinched the doubles win for Harvard with a 6-4 win over Cornell's Bernado Casares Rosa and Rohan Sikka.

In singles play, Thirouin defeated No. 116 Lev Kazakov in straight sets – 6-3, 6-4 – to move Harvard in front 2-0 in the dual match. But Cornell rallied for three set victories at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, while also taking straight set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

The Crimson will travel to Princeton and Penn next weekend (April 22-23) to wrap up the regular season, with a chance to clinch its first Ivy League title since 2013.
