Men's Tennis Sweeps Louisiana, 7-0, To Kick Off Busy Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard men's tennis (10-8) kicked off a busy weekend with a 7-0 dual match win over Louisiana (11-8) on Friday afternoon (March 24) at the Murr Center Tennis Courts. The Crimson continued its solid play in doubles this season, sweeping all three matches to improve to 36-16 (.692) in doubles play this season. Michael Peters and Jean Thirouin won in the No. 2 spot, making quick work of Louisiana's Arthur Libaud and Jamie Fraser (6-2). Then came more steady play from Harvard's two most consistent doubles pairs.

In the No. 1 spot, the 57th-ranked pair of Brian Yeung and Kenny Tao won 6-4 over Louisiana's Coleman Wahlborg and Eric Perez, clinching the doubles point. Then Christopher Morrow and Logan Weber also picked up their 12th win of the season with a 7-6 (5) win in the No. 3 spot.

In singles play Tao, Thirouin, Yeung, Andy Zhou, and Morrow all won in straight sets, with Yeung clinching the dual match with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 3 singles spot. Grant Solomon went to a tie breaker in the third set, winning 10-8 to give Harvard its second 7-0 sweep of the season and first since Feb. 5 against Boise State.

Harvard will host Buffalo (11 a.m.) and Amherst College (4 p.m.) tomorrow at the Murr Center Tennis Courts. Both matches will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.
