Men's Tennis Falls 4-2 In Hard Fought Match Against Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard men's tennis team (5-4) fell 4-2 to Princeton (3-3) in a hard fought dual match in the opening round of the ECAC Championships. Harvard, the No. 6 seed, won the doubles point with a stirring comeback after No. 3 seed Princeton won the No. 3 doubles match first.

The No. 2 doubles pair of Sebastian Beltrame and Jean Thirouin used a late break of serve to rally past Princeton's pair of Tom Calautti and Payton Holden, 6-4. In the No. 1 doubles match, Kenny Tao and Brian Yeung rallied from down 4-2 to win the match, 6-4 and clinch the doubles point for the Crimson.

In singles play, Tao won in straight sets – 6-4, 6-1 – against Alex Day to push Harvard in front. But Princeton won the next three singles matches to clinch the win for the Tigers.

Harvard will take on No.7 seed Yale tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m.
