NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 32 Harvard men's tennis (5-3) fell to No. 37 Memphis (4-2) Friday evening, 6-1, at Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Crimson lost the first doubles set, but No. 32 Sebastian Beltrame and Kenny Tao bounced back to even the score with a 7-6 win. Andrew Watson and Shakeel Manji of Memphis edged out Nicky Hu and Brian Yeung at the No. 3 slot to earn the doubles point.
Harvard lost at the No. 5 spot to fall to 0-2. Tao earned a win in the first set, but couldn't match Chris Patzanovsky in sets two and three. The Tigers' Kai Lemke posted a 6-3, 7-6 win over Brian Yeung to secure the match. Kelvin Lam was the lone Crimson winner, besting Manji in the No. 6 spot.
Harvard will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 7 against host Vanderbilt. Match time is set for 12 noon.
