CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 36 Harvard men's tennis team (15-6) suffered a hard-fought loss against No. 28 Columbia, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Murr Tennis Center. The Crimson earned points from sophomore Sebastian Beltrame and freshman Grant Solomon.

All matches came down to the wire, as five singles contests were three set thrillers.

At the No. 3 position, Beltrame rallied to take a 6-7 (1), 7-5, 6-3 win over Ashok Narayana. Solomon bested Bert Vancura (6-7(3), 7-6(3), 10-7) in a three-set battle.

Harvard took the first doubles match, as senior captain Denis Nguyen and sophomore Brian Yeung teamed up to defeat the No. 50 pair of Winston Lin and Vermeer. Columbia (10-5) battled back to earn the doubles point with 6-3 victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

Junior Nicky Hu gave No. 105 Dragos Ignat a run for his money, but fell 7-6(1), 2-6, 6-2. Yeung and senior captain Alex Steinroeder also lost three-set skirmishes at the No. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.
