CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- A mere three days after the Crimson clinched the program's 29th Ivy League title, it found out who it would play in the first round of the NCAA tournament, to be held on May 11-12. Harvard will head to Gainesville, Fla. next week to face No. 45 Virginia Tech on May 12 with the match slated for 9 a.m.
The Hokies pose a familiar threat to the Crimson after the squad visited Cambridge, Mass., earlier in the season when the Crimson edged Virginia Tech, 4-3. The Crimson took the doubles point and got three singles victories from Alex Steinroeder, Christo Schultz and Shaun Chaudhuri to lift the team to victory. With its win back in February, Harvard maintains a perfect 10-0 record against the Hokies.
The other first round match in Harvard's bracket will be Navy playing against host, No. 12 Florida.
