CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 24 Duke at the Murr Center Tennis Courts Friday morning. The Crimson rebounded to claim a 6-1 victory over Quinnipiac in the nightcap. Harvard moves to 9-7 on the year while Duke picks up its seventh win of the season and Quinnipiac suffers its first loss.

In a closely contested opening match, the Blue Devils picked up the first four points of the match to clinch the win. Duke jumped out to an early lead by taking two of the three doubles matches. Harvard's Alexei Chijoff-Evans and Joshua Tchan teamed up to defeat Duke's Alain Michel and Torsten Wietoska, the No. 44 ranked duo in the nation, to even the doubles score. The No. 1 doubles match came down to a tiebreaker to decide the doubles point. Harvard's Alistair Felton and Christo Schultz battled it out with Duke's Dylan Arnould and David Holland, with the Blue Devils earning the point when Arnould and Holland claimed the No. 1 position 8-7, 12-10 in the tiebreaker. Duke won at the No. 2, 4 and 6 slots to earn the victory. The matches at the No. 1, 3 and 5 spots went unfinished, ending with all three headed to a third set, tied at one set apiece.

Harvard bounced back to down Quinnipiac, 6-1, to close out the day. The Crimson swept the doubles matches. Alexei Chijoff-Evans and Joshua Tchan teamed up to win their second doubles match of the day to help Harvard complete the sweep. The Crimson nearly pulled off a sweep in the singles matches as the team claimed six of the seven spots. Chijoff-Evans rolled at the top slot 6-2, 6-0. Davis Mangham easily won at the No. 5 position, 6-0, 6-0.

Harvard returns to the courts March 30, to take on Binghamton in a final non-conference tuneup.
