CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard men's tennis team defeated Radford, 4-3, Thursday evening at the Murr Center Tennis Courts. The Crimson improve to 6-4 on the season with the win while the Highlanders drop to 2-7.
Harvard claimed a 1-0 lead going into singles play by winning two of the three doubles matches. Aba Omodele-Lucien and Christo Schultz picked up an 8-5 victory at the No. 1 position. Schultz closed out the match by serving up three aces in the final game. Alistair Felton and Andy Nguyen also won by the score of 8-5 at the No. 2 slot.
The doubles point turned out to be a crucial advantage in the match as both squads earned three singles victories. Nguyen grabbed a win at the No. 2 singles spot, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. Omodele-Lucien cruised to victory in the fourth position, 6-2, 6-2. Schultz picked up Harvard's third singles win of the day with a three-set victory at the No. 6 slot.
The Crimson returns to action Friday, March 12, in a match that was rescheduled from Feb. 27. Harvard will host St. John's at the Murr Center Tennis Courts.
