PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Harvard men's squash team had two members advance on Friday to the College Squash Association's national semifinal round, which is slated to begin on Saturday, March 2, at the Nicol Squash Club at Moses Brown School in Providence, Rhode Island.
First-year Victor Crouin earned two victories on the day, including winning a matchup against teammate junior Timothy Brownell, 11-5, 11-2, 11-3, in the quarterfinal round. In the Molloy East: B Division East, Julien Gosset survived in five games against Columbia's Robin Singh Mann, 13-11, 11-7, 7-11, 10-12, 11-4. He also took down Salim Khan of George Washington, 11-7, 12-10, 12-10.
Samuel Scherl, meanwhile, saw his season come to an end as he fell in five sets to Rochester's Ashely Davies, 11-4, 12-10, 9-11, 3-11, 6-11, in the Round of 16 in Pool Trophy action. Marwen Tarek also dropped his Round-of-16 match, coming up short against St. Lawrence's Mohamed El Gawarhy, 9-11, 11-9, 5-11, 9-11.
