CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– The Harvard men's squash team swept Northeastern, 9-0, in its season opener on Wednesday night. The Crimson won all of its matches by a 3-0 decision.
Sophomore Samuel Scherl played at the No. 1 position and earned a victory against Ian Hay of Northeastern. First-year George Crowne earned his first collegiate victory against Alexander Jafry and was the team's No. 2. Sophomore Adam Corcoran played as the No. 3 seed for the Crimson, beating Alexander Swenson.
Harvard Highlights:
- Senior Rana Bansal allowed just one point during the match to his opponent.
- Senior Alexi Gosset only allowed four points in his season debut, including a 11-0 win in the third game of his match.
- This is the third consecutive time the men's squash team has opened the season with a win.
- Harvard is now 2-0 against Northeastern with both wins coming by way of 9-0 victories.
