Before Harvard
Played varsity squash at St. Fintans High School from 2008-2014 … Played for the Sutton Lawn Tennis Club Premier squash team from 2011-2014 and at the No. 1 position in 2013 and 2014 … Captained the Irish Junior National Team at the under 13, 15 and 17 levels … Won five European Super Series titles including the French Junior Open, Swiss Junior Open, German Junior Open and Nordic Junior Open … Also won three Irish Junior Open Championships at the under 13, 15 and 17 levels and four Irish National Championships at under 11, 13, 15, 17 … Achieved a No. 1 ranking in the European Junior Squash Rankings at the under 13, 15 and 17 levels … Won six All-Ireland School Squash Championships, never losing a match at the high school level … Awarded the Bank of Ireland National Sports School award in 2010 …  His Father, Eoin Ryan, is a decorated squash player at the junior and senior levels, coaching the Irish Senior team at the European and World Championship … His sister, Stephanie, has represented the Irish Junior team from 2011-2014.
