Men’s and Women’s Squash Send Eight to CSA Individual Championships

Eight members from the Crimson squash program will compete at the CSA Individual Championships this weekend (Gil Talbot).

– The Harvard men's and women's squash teams will be sending eight student-athletes to the CSA Individual Championships at Dartmouth March 3-5. The opening rounds will take place Friday, followed by the semifinal matches on Saturday and championship round Sunday.

After winning its third consecutive national title, seven members of the Crimson women's squash team will compete this weekend in individual play. The men's team is sending two individuals after finishing as the runner-up at the Potter Cup.

For the women, sophomore Kayley Leonard (10-0) and freshman Amelia Henley (13-0) and Gina Kennedy (10-2) will contend for the Ramsay Cup. Leonard will square off with Breanne Flynn from George Washington at 4:40 p.m. on Friday.  Henley's first-round matchup is against Jenny Scherl of Yale Friday at 4 p.m., while Kennedy will take on Michele Garceau from Cornell at 4:40 p.m.

Junior Alyssa Mehta (14-0) earned a bye as the No. 1 seed in the Holleran South division, and she could face teammate Eleonore Evans (11-2) in the next round as Mehta will take on the winner of Evan's matchup with Kim Krayacich of Amhrest which is slated for 2:40 p.m. Friday.

Junior Sue Ann Yong (12-1) begins play in the Holleran West bracket with a first-round match against Kaitlin Reese from Haverford at 6 p.m. 

On the men's side, freshman Saadeldin Abouaish (10-5) and sophomore Alexi Gosset (9-1) will represent the Crimson at the championships. Abouaish will play Trinity's Michael Craig at 6 p.m. Friday in the first round for the Pool Trophy, while Gosset will compete earlier in the day at 12:45 p.m. against Carson Spahr from Dartmouth in the Molloy North division.
