CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – All nine Harvard men's squash players in action swept opponents from New York University, as the No. 5-ranked Crimson easily defeated the visiting Bobcats, 9-0, Dec. 2. It was the first of six matches scheduled for Harvard this weekend.
Harvard used a mixed lineup compared to its regular top-nine. All nine starters appeared in their respective positions for the first time this season and five Crimson student-athletes made their season debuts.
Nigel Koh, Zeke Scherl, Julian Kirby and Alexander Ma played in the No. 1-4 slots and each improved to 4-0 on the young season. Will Ahmed, Charles Cabot, Seth Neel, Shaw McKean and Asfyander Nadeem dominated the No. 5-9 spots. The last five in the lineup, who each made their first appearance this season, combined to win 165-of-177 points against their NYU opponents.
Harvard will complete a rare feat tomorrow, playing a home (Amherst, 11 a.m.), away (at MIT, 2 p.m.) and neutral site match (vs. Boston College at MIT, 4:30 p.m.) in the same day, before finishing with two more matches on Sunday.
