PRINCETON, N.J. – After picking up three points this past weekend, Nico Garcia-Morillo has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today (Oct. 8). This is Garcia-Morillo's first weekly honor and Harvard's first this season.
On Saturday against No. 24 Cornell, the Key Biscayne, Fla. native tallied his first career goal that tied the match 1-1 heading into halftime. After picking up a loose ball at the 18, the forward beat the Big Red's keeper right-side for the score. Later in the match with Harvard down 3-1, Garcia-Morillo sent a cross to classmate Alfred Perez who cut Cornell's lead to one goal with less than eight minutes remaining in regulation.
The Crimson heads out for a five-game road swing beginning with Boston College on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
