CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s and women’s soccer programs have announced the hiring of their first ever soccer operations assistant, as they welcome Katie Schoepfer to the staff. Schoepfer will handle the administrative aspects of both the Harvard men’s and women’s soccer programs.
Schoepfer comes to Cambridge on the heels of a stint in professional and international soccer. She appeared in 13 games for the Boston Breakers of the WPS in 2011 after playing with the leagues’ Sky Blue FC in 2010. She was a four-year member of the U.S. Under-23 National Team and had earlier success with the program as a member of the U-17 squad.
The Waterford, Conn., native had a decorated collegiate career at Penn State from 2006-09. As a senior, she garnered numerous awards, including Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, second team NSCAA All-American and first team NSCAA Scholar All-American. She also earned NSCAA All-America third team accolades as a sophomore in 2007. Schoepfer was a three-time all-conference selection and was picked to the Big Ten All Freshman Team in 2006.
