PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard men's lacrosse dropped a 12-9 decision to No. 16 Princeton Saturday afternoon at the Class of 1952 Stadium.
The Tigers (9-4, 4-1) were paced by Gavin McBride with seven goals and one assist for eight points. Goalie Tyler Blaisdell made 18 saves for Princeton.
Tim Edmonds struck first with a runner down the left side before Princeton ripped off three-straight. Carney Mahon bookended the quarter with a dodge down the right alley. Princeton scored the lone goal in the second quarter to take a 4-2 lead into the break.
Andrews scored on the first Crimson shot of the second half, dodging down the right alley to beat the Princeton goalie. The Tigers ripped off three-straight, including two by McBride, to move back ahead 7-3 with 4:38 to play in the third. Morgan Cheek scored his first of the day with an individual effort down goal-line extended and then found Connor McCroskey to move Harvard within two, 7-5. McBride scored once more in the third to make the tally 8-5 with 15 minutes to play.
The two teams were even in the fourth quarter, each registering four scores. Lang and Graff found the net for the final two scores, but it would not be enough to unseat the Tigers.
