Gornet Named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Cameron Gornet has been named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, the league announced today (Feb. 25).

Making his first career home starts at Bright-Landry Hockey Center, Gornet was fantastic in two wins against Brown (W, 4-2) and Yale (W, 3-0) this past weekend. Gornet made 63 saves on 65 shots combined in the two wins. He stopped 28 of 30 shots against the Bears and then recorded Harvard's first shutout of the year, and his first career shutout, making a career high 35 saves in a 3-0 win over Yale.

Gornet earned the Tim Taylor Cup as the MVP of the Harvard-Yale game played at Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Overall on the weekend, Gornet was 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .969 save percentage.

No. 16 Harvard (16-8-3, 12-6-2 ECAC Hockey) heads to Rensselaer and Union this weekend (March 1-2), one point behind Cornell in the chase for the Cleary Cup.
