Senior goaltender Michael Lackey earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior goaltender Michael Lackey was named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week, the league announced today (Jan. 14).
Lackey continued a run of excellent play this week, starting games against Boston University at home, as well as Princeton and No. 6 Quinnipiac on the road, going 1-1-1 with a 1.97 GAA and .942 Save %. He allowed just three even strength goals in those three contests. Lackey stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 2-2 tie against BU on Tuesday, and made 22 saves and allowed just one even strength goal against Princeton.
On Saturday night at No. 6/6 Quinnipiac, Lackey was the star of the show, making a career high 46 saves to help Harvard earn a 2-1 win over the Bobcats. Lackey has allowed two goals or less in eight of his last nine starts. Harvard is 7-3-1 in its last 11 games overall, with Lackey starting all of those contests (7-3-1, 1.71 GAA, .941 Save %). This season, he is 7-4-3 with a 2.32 GAA and .920 Save %.
Harvard will hit the road for another ECAC Hockey road series this weekend (Jan. 17-18), as the Crimson will take on No. 15 Cornell and Colgate. Both games will air on ESPN+.
