Fox, Dornbach Earn HCA National Monthly Awards

Junior defenseman Adam Fox and first-year forward Casey Dornbach were outstanding for Harvard during the month of Novemeber.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior defenseman Adam Fox was named National Co-Player of the Month, and first-year forward Casey Dornbach earned National Rookie of the Month, as announced by the Hockey Commissioners Association today (Dec. 6).

Fox, who was named ECAC Hockey Player of the Month earlier this week, averaged nearly two points-per-game during the month of November, registering 15 points (4G, 11A) in the eight games the Crimson played. A native of Jericho, N.Y., he notched at least one point (and assist) in all eight games, including six multi-point performances. 

The junior was the centerpiece of Harvard's resurgent month, helping the Crimson to a 4-2-2 record, which included five games against nationally-ranked opponents. He now leads the nation in scoring, having registered 20 points (5G, 15A) through the teams first 11 games for an average of 1.82 points-per-game.

Dornbach, who was also ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month, led all rookies in scoring in November. The first-year forward from Edina, Minn. recording 14 points on two goals and 12 assists to help the Crimson to a 4-2-2 record. Dornbach had four multi-point efforts during the month, including back-to-back three assist efforts to close out the month against Cornell and Colgate.

The forward did much of his damage in Harvard's five games against nationally-ranked opponents, scoring a goal and assisting on seven tallies in those contests. He finished the month with a +5 rating, and averaged 1.75 points-per-game.
