Men's Ice Hockey Picked Fifth in ECAC Hockey Preseason Polls

Seniors Michael Floodstrand and Lewis Zerter-Gossage will lead Harvard men's ice hockey in 2018-19.

The Harvard men's ice hockey team was picked to finish fifth in the Preseason ECAC Hockey Coaches' and Media polls, the conference announced today (Sept. 19).

Harvard returns 22 letterwinners including All-League performers Adam Fox, Reilly Walsh, and Jack Badini from last season's team, which clinched Harvard's fourth straight bid to ECAC Hockey Championship weekend, the third league team in the last decade to accomplish that feat.

Fox, a sophomore defenseman from Jericho, N.Y. was named a 2018-19 ECAC Preseason All-League selection. He had another standout campaign as one of the nation's best blueliners, racking up six goals, and 22 assists in 29 games played which was good for fifth in the country among defensemen (scoring/game). Fox was a 2017-18 CCM/AHCA All-American, becoming the 12th player in program history to be named a two time All-American.

Walsh, a native of Andover, N.H., was an ECAC All-Rookie Team selection led the ECAC freshman blueliners in scoring with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 33 games. He was tied for fifth in ECAC Hockey with seven power play goals.

Badini was also an ECAC All-Rookie team selection, and led all Harvard freshman in scoring, with 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) in 33 games played.

Harvard will be led by senior captains Lewis Zerter-Gossage and Michael Floodstrand this season.
