Men's Ice Hockey Announces 2018-19 Schedule

Harvard finished the 2017-18 season with a 15-14-4 record, clinching a fourth straight ECAC Hockey Championship weekend appearance.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
– The Harvard men's ice hockey team announced its 2018-19 schedule today (July 2). The Crimson will play 31 games, with 16 at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The campaign includes the first ever "Frozen Apple" game between Harvard and Cornell at Madison Square Garden, and home exhibition matches against the Chinese National Team and the US NTDP U-18 team. All 16 home games at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center will be available to stream on ESPN+.

For a third year, the Crimson will kick off play at home with an exhibition game against the USNTDP U-18 team at Bright-Landry on Oct. 20. The following week, Harvard will travel to Hanover for a conference faceoff with Dartmouth on Oct. 27 before returning in early November for home games against Quinnipiac and Princeton on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, respectively.

After traveling to Yale on Nov. 9 and Brown on Nov. 10, the Crimson will host a home series on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 against Arizona State. In 2016-17, Harvard kicked off the season in Arizona with a 7-0 rout of the Sun Devils, accompanied by a 6-2 win the following night for a season-opening sweep in favor of the Crimson.

Following the series, Harvard will travel to Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., to face rival Cornell in the "Frozen Apple" game on Nov. 24. The non-conference game will be the first between the rivals ever at the venue and the first meeting between the two teams next season.

The Crimson will close out the pre-finals schedule at home with a series against Colgate on Nov. 30 and Cornell on Dec. 1. Then on Dec. 4, Harvard will host Bentley for the fifth time in program history, with the Crimson leading the series, 4-0. Prior to the new year, Harvard will host the Chinese National Team in an exhibition match on Dec. 29 at Bright-Landry.

Harvard will kick off the new year with games on Jan. 4 and Jan. 8, hosting Rensselaer and Boston University. The Crimson will then hit a four-game stretch away from home, facing Princeton on Jan. 11, Quinnipiac on Jan. 12, Cornell on Jan. 18 and Colgate on Jan. 19.

Harvard will return home for matches against Clarkson on Jan. 25, St. Lawrence on Jan. 26 and Dartmouth on Feb. 1. On Feb. 4, the Crimson will face Boston College in the 67th annual Beanpot tournament at the TD Garden, and will return home Feb. 8 to host Union. On Feb. 11, Harvard will close out the Beanpot, then travel to the North Country for games at St. Lawrence Feb. 15 and Clarkson on Feb. 16.

The Crimson will close out the 16-game home roster with contests against Brown and Yale on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, respectively, at Bright-Landry. Following the home series, Harvard will travel to Rensselaer on Mar. 1 and Union on Mar. 2 to close out the regular season.
