Incoming Freshman Jack Drury Selected by Carolina in NHL Draft

DALLAS, Tex. –
Freshman forward Jack Drury was selected in the second round (42nd overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2018 NHL Draft at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Drury, who served as captain of the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL in 2017-18, led the team and finished fourth in the USHL in scoring with 65 points (24 goals, 41 assists) in 56 games.

Drury is the eighth player in Harvard history to be selected in the first two rounds of the NHL Draft and the second Crimson player ever selected by the Carolina Hurricanes, joining Jessie Lane '05.

A USHL Second Team All-Star and All-Academic Team selection, Drury's father Ted Drury '93 was a Hobey Baker Award finalist, U.S. Olympian (1992, 1994) and skated in 414 NHL games. His mother Elizabeth Berkery Drury '93 was a three-time All-American in women's lacrosse and helped Harvard to 1990 national title. He is also the nephew of former NHL standout Chris Drury.
