Men's Ice Hockey Announces Eight Freshmen in Class of 2022

Harvard men's ice hockey will add eight freshmen before the start of the 2018-19 season.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
The Harvard men's ice hockey program has announced the eight-member incoming freshman class of 2022. The Crimson, fresh off its fourth straight ECAC Hockey championship weekend appearance, will welcome five forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender into the fold in 2018-19.

The group of eight hails from two countries (U.S., Canada), representing five states and two provinces.

Wyllum Deveaux | Forward | Sackville, Nova Scotia | Kearney High School
Played most recently for Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, while also playing for Tri-City Storm prior to trade … Recorded five points (goal, four assists) in 24 games … Team captain for Tri-City … Notched 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) in 53 games for Tri-City in 2016-17 … Recorded 68 points (27 goals, 41 assists) in 65 games for Don Mills Flyers in 2015-16.

Casey Dornbach | Forward | Edina, Minn. | Edina High School
Member of Lincoln Stars of the USHL … Led Lincoln in scoring and finished eighth in the USHL with 56 points (21 goals, 35 assists) in 59 games … Earned All-USHL Third Team honors … Previously played for Edina High School (MN) where he was captain in 2015-16, and teammates in previous years with current sophomores Benjamin Foley and Henry Bowlby … Edina Scholar-Athlete and earned Edina Willard Ikola Senior Hockey Player Highest GPA Award … Father Greg played college hockey at Miami (OH).

Jack Drury | Forward | Winnetka, Ill. | Waterloo West High School
Team captain of Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL … Led team and finished fourth in the USHL in scoring with 65 points (24 goals, 41 assists) in 56 games … USHL Second Team All-Star and All-Academic Team selection … Led Waterloo to Anderson Cup (regular season) championship … Ranked 27th among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings … Represented U.S. at Ivan Hlinka Memorial and World Junior A Challenge … Named to 2017 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game … Father Ted Drury '93 was Hobey Baker Award finalist, U.S. Olympian (1992, 1994) and skated in 414 NHL games … Mother Elizabeth Berkery Drury '93 was a three-time All-American in women's lacrosse and helped Harvard to 1990 national title.

RJ Murphy | Forward | Needham, Mass. | St. Sebastian's School
Played for the West Kelowna Warriors of BCHL in 2017-18 … Recorded 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists) in 58 games, finishing third on the team in scoring … Played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL in 2016-17, recording two goals and two assists in 13 games … Called up to the U.S. NTDP U18-Team for two games in 2015-16, recording a goal and an assists … Totaled 108 points with 47 goals and 61 assists over four years at St. Sebastian's School (MA).

Marshall Rifai | Defense | Beaconsfield, Quebec | Hotchkiss School
Played for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL in 2017-18, after a stint earlier in the year with the Omaha Lancers … Recorded a combined 24 points (five goals, 19 assists) in 50 games last season … Played for the Hotchkiss School (CT) for three seasons, recording a combined 57 points (14 goals, 43 assists) … Team captain in 2016-17 … Named to the USHS first team All-New England Team (West) in 2016-17.

Jack Rathbone | Defense | West Roxbury, Mass. | Dexter School
Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fourth round, 95th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft … Played four years at the Dexter School, recording 41 goals and 57 assists for 98 points … Played four games for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL in 2016-17… Tabbed to the USHS All-USA Hockey second team in 2017-18 … Named to the USHS All-USA Hockey first team and USHS first team All-New England Team (East) in 2016-17… Named to 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Derek Schaedig | Goaltender | Chelsea, Mich. | Chelsea High School
Played for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL in 2017-18 … Finished season 11-4-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .916 Save %, including two shutouts … Called up to Lincoln last season and was named USHL Goalie of the Week … Played most of 2016-17 season with Janesville Jets of NAHL, finishing year with 15-7-3 record, 2.98 GAA and .902 Save % … A four-year member of Chelsea (MI) varsity hockey team, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and earned Magna Cum Laude honors.

Baker Shore | Forward | Englewood, Colo. | Kent Denver School
Represented the Chicago Steel of the USHL from 2015-18 … In 2017-18 finished third on the team and 20th in the USHL in scoring with 48 points (23 goals, 25 assists) in 60 games … 2016-17 USHL Clark Cup Champion … Named to the USHL All-Academic Team in 2017-18 … Brothers Drew, Nick and Quinten were standouts at the University of Denver … Drew, currently plays for the ZSC Lions of the NLA in Switzerland … Nick is a member of the Calgary Flames of the NHL … Quentin plays for the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL.
