Junior goaltender Michael Lackey was excellent in two starts against Quinnipiac and Princeton this past weekend.
ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior goaltender Michael Lackey was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, the conference announced today (Dec. 5).
Lackey, making his first starts in net in nearly two years after missing all of last season due to injury, was fantastic in road wins against Quinnipiac (W, 6-2) and Princeton (W, 5-2) this past weekend.
In Hamden, Conn. on Friday night, Lackey made a career high 41 saves on 43 shots (.953 Save %), for his first win in net since Nov. 7, 2015 (vs. Brown). He followed up that performance by stopping 23 of 25 shots in a 5-2 win against Princeton on Saturday night, making 13 saves in the third period alone.
A native of Washington, D.C., Lackey was 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals against average and a .941 save percentage in two starts.
Harvard will head into the exam period and holiday break for the next several weeks before returning to action at the Catamount Cup (Dec. 29-30) hosted by the University of Vermont.
