BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior forward Sean Malone has signed a two-year entry level contract with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League, the team announced Saturday morning.
Malone, a native of West Seneca, New York, is a 2013 NHL Draft selection of the Sabres (6th round, 159th overall).
Malone finished his senior campaign with 42 points in 36 games, ranking second on the Crimson. He was selected as a Walter Brown Award semifinalist and earned a spot on the ECAC Hockey All-Tournament team, helping lead the Crimson to its 10th conference title. The center iceman posted a +24 this season, finishing +31 for his career with seven game-winning goals.
Malone finished his career with 42 goals and 57 assists in 115 career games. He was the 2013-14 Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year.
The Sabres have two regular season games left, playing at the Florida Panthers Saturday April 8 at 7 p.m. and at the Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday, April 9 at 5 p.m.
