ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior goaltender Merrick Madsen and sophomore forward Ryan Donato have been recognized as the ECAC Hockey Goaltender and Player of the Month, respectively, for the month of February, as announced by the conference office Wednesday night.

Madsen and Donato earn the honors after helping the Crimson post an 8-0-0 record in February, pushing its current win streak to 10 games and unbeaten streak to 12 (11-0-1).

Madsen has started every game this season for Harvard, and the eight wins last month pushed his season record to 22-5-1, matching Denver's Tanner Jalliet for the most victories during the regular season this year. In February, Madsen registered a 2.09 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. He allowed only 11 even strength goals all month. For the year, Madsen has a 2.17 GAA and .918 save mark. He has been named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week three times (Nov. 22, Jan. 3 and Jan. 10).

Donato led the conference with 15 points in February and finished just two points shy of the nation's lead for points during the month. The Scituate, Massachusetts native has a knack for scoring in bunches, as he had three games during the month in which he recorded four points. He led the Crimson to a 6-2 win over then-No. 6/6 Union, scoring four goals, he dished out four assists in a 6-0 win at Brown and capped the regular season with a two-goal, two-assist game against St. Lawrence. Donato was twice selected as the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week in February. He led the Crimson with 18 goals in the regular season and was second with 35 points.
