CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Harvard men's hockey forward Michael Biega has been named U.S. College Hockey Online's national Third Star.
Biega, who was previously named ECAC Hockey MLX Skates Player of the Week, scored both game-winning goals in the Crimson's road sweep of Clarkson last weekend in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. The senior also assisted on a Pier-Olivier Michaud goal in Game 2 at Clarkson to total three key points on the weekend as Harvard extended its late-season winning streak to five games.
It is the second time in three weeks that a Biega brother has garnered selection as USCHO's Third Star. Crimson defenseman Danny Biega previously earned the honor.
The Crimson visits No. 18 Dartmouth this weekend for a best-of-three ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series. The teams meet Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m., if necessary. The winning team will reach the league quarterfinals, being held this season at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., for the first time.
