ECAC Hockey Coaches Get First Look at Boardwalk Hall

The Boardwalk Hall stage, which has hosted events ranging from Rolling Stones concerts to Miss America pageants, overlooks the arena's ice rink.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Ted Donato ’91, the Robert D. Ziff ’88 Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Ice Hockey, and his fellow ECAC Hockey coaches got their first glimpse of Boardwalk Hall, the new home of the league’s championship tournament, at the 2010 ECAC Hockey media day Tuesday.

The league’s coaches were taken on a tour of the new facility and gathered to address the media regarding the upcoming season. The 9,600-seat arena was built in 1929 and re-opened in 2001 following a three-year, $90 million restoration. It is a National Historic Landmark.

The ECAC Hockey coaches and media released their preseason polls. The league coaches picked Harvard to finish seventh in the league, while the media chose the Crimson 10th.

Yale, Cornell and Union were picked first, second and third, respectively by both the coaches and the media.
