NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Harvard men's golf team placed seventh at the 54-hole Macdonald Cup, hosted by Yale University, posting an overall team score of 869 (288-287-284).
Junior Rij Patel finished sixth turning in a three-round aggregate score of a three-under, 207. After shooting even par in the first two rounds on Saturday, Patel registered four birdies on Sunday afternoon to finish with a three-under par, 67.
Sophomore, newcomer Oliver Cordeiro answered a two-over par, 72, during Saturday's morning session with a one-under score of 69 with five birdies in the afternoon. The Winchester native finished the tournament with 10 birdies for an overall three-round total of 218 (72-69-77).
First-year Brian Isztwan followed up with a three-round total of 221 (72-73-76), while senior captain Aurian Capart followed up with an aggregate score of 228 (74-75-59). Sophomore Peter George, who competed as an individual, finished with a score of 227 (73-78-76).
- Sophomore Oliver Cordeiro, who registered 10 birdies over the three-day tournament, was three-under on the par threes.
- Junior Rij Patel finished amongst the top-10 with a three-round aggregate score of a three-under 207 (70-70-67).
- Patel was even on all the par threes, recording seven pars with two birdies and two bogeys.
Harvard closes out its fall slate with an Ivy League match play event on Long Island against Yale and Princeton with 36-holes on Oct. 13.
