Men’s Fencing Shines at USA Fencing National Championships & July Challenge

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Over the weekend, nine individuals, including four incoming first-year student-athletes, competed in both junior and senior foil, saber, and epee bouts at the USA Fencing National Championships. 

Sweeping the podium in the junior men's saber division, incoming first-year Filip Dolegiewicz placed first, rising sophomore Daniel Solomon finished second, and first-year Mitchell Saron tied for third. In the junior men's foil, first-year Kenji Bravo tied for 51st. Newcomer Jonas Hansen held 17th place in the junior men's epee competition. 

In the senior men's saber class, Solomon finished 12th, Dolegiewicz placed 13th, and Saron held 24th; rising sophomore Jason Oh competed as well. In the foil, Bravo finished 16th and senior captain Duncan Rheingans-Yoo placed 20th. In the epee, oncoming junior Adrien Thein-Sandler placed 15th.
