CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's fencing team will welcome two student-athletes from the Class of 2018 to the program this fall, head coach Peter Brand announced. Eli Dershwitz and Eric Zhao will join the Crimson for the 2014-15 campaign.
Dershwitz, who hails from Sherborn, Mass., and Zhao, who calls Potomac, Md., home, are each sabre fencers.
The Crimson newcomers will be joining some talented company as the squad went 12-6 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League to capture its eighth Ancient Eight crown and second straight in 2013-14. Harvard, who garnered four All-Ivy honors, finished fifth at the NCAA Championships with four fencers earning All-America accolades.
