No. 5 Harvard Lightweight Crew Medals at IRA National Championships

FOLSOM, Calif. – The No. 5 Harvard lightweight crew team completed competition at the IRA National Championships this morning at Lake Natoma in Folsom, Calif. The day was highlighted by a silver medal finish by the varsity four without a coxswain. The crew trailed Dartmouth for much of the race, but put together a late surge to overcome its Ivy foe by less than two seconds.

The varsity lightweight eight and lightweight four both finished second in their respective petite finals, with the eight getting edged by Georgetown by just under a second. Overall, the team placed tied for fifth out of ten programs, besting Ivy rivals Dartmouth and Penn while sharing the fifth place spot with Yale.
