No. 4 Men’s Lightweight Crew Defeats No. 1 Cornell, No. 7 Penn

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 4 Harvard men's lightweight crew began its season with a strong performance, topping No. 1 Cornell and No. 7 Penn in Ithaca, New York in the staging of the Matthews-Leonard Cups.

Harvard's victory over Cornell was its first in the last five meetings and moves the Crimson's record all-time against Big Red to 22-11. Cornell won the IRA National Championship last year and had not lost a duel race since 2016. Harvard is now 30-3 all-time against Penn and has not lost to the Quakers since 1988.
