Men’s Heavyweight Crew Wins Club Eight Race at HOCR

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's heavyweight crew opened the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday by winning the Club Eight race and placing its two other entries inside the top 13 of the 39-team competition.

The winning Crimson crew, coxed by Nicolas Yan, was the first on the water and maintained its position throughout, finishing ahead of Dartmouth and Brown, which followed Harvard in reverse order. The Crimson eight finished with a time of 14:36.116, more than 12 seconds better than the Big Green.

Harvard's second boat, which was coxed by Isabella Rhyu, finished in the same position it started – in eighth place. The Crimson clocked in at 15:08.856 and was the seventh-best collegiate crew in the field.

The final Harvard entry, meanwhile, came in 13th place and featured Haeyun Lee as the coxswain. The boat finished in 15:30.176.
