PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Alexander Richards of the Harvard men's heavyweight crew team has been selected to the 2017 US Rowing World Championships roster, as announced by the organization this week.
Richards was selected to compete with the coxswain-less men's four team. Richards, a Watertown, Massachusetts native, will be joined by Ben Delaney (George Washington), Bobby Moffitt (Dartmouth) and Ben Ruble (Wisconsin).
Competition for the 2017 World Rowing Championships will take place September 24 through October 1 in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida. This will be the first international rowing competition held in the United States in over 20 years. Additionally, this year will be the first World Championship in the new quadrennial, as U.S. crews build towards the 2020 Olympic Games.
Richards previously competed in the 2017 World Rowing Under 23 Championships earlier this year, taking fourth in the pair with Harvard teammate Liam Corrigan.
