CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a stacked field at the 51st Head of the Charles Regatta, Harvard men's heavyweight crew beat out defending national champion Washington and just over three seconds off the winning pace to take third overall.
The Crimson, stroked by Jack Kelley and coxed by Cole Durbin, stopped the clock after 4800m in 14:21.357. Yale won the event (14:18.970), followed by California (14:19.650). Following Harvard over five seconds later was Washington (14:26.641) and rounding out the top five was Boston University (14:29.908).
The Harvard B boat posted a time of 14:41.886 to take eighth overall. Harvard's B crew was three seconds behind the Brown A team and six seconds ahead of Cornell.
The four clocked a time of 17:00.240 to rank 10th overall.
