No. 4 Heavyweight Crew Comes Up Short in Compton Cup

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 4 Harvard men's heavyweight crew team dropped four races to Princeton Saturday morning at Lake Carnegie, besting MIT in the varsity eight race. The Tigers halted a nine-race Crimson win streak in the series and a 38-race overall win streak.

In the varsity eight race, Princeton stopped the clock in 5:43.9 before Harvard crossed in 5:48.4. The V8, stroked by Charlie Risbey and coxed by Jessi Izhakoff, bested MIT by open water (6:04.5).

The first freshman boat finished four seconds off the mark of the Tigers, clocking a time of 5:46.5. The second varsity finished four seconds after the 1F with a time of 5:46.8.

The third varsity was five seconds behind Princeton, crossing in 5:54.3. The Crimson fourth varsity was a boat length behind the Tigers, finishing in 6:06.9.

The Crimson continues on the road, heading to Maryland for the Adams Cup against Navy/Penn.
