Heavyweight Crew Advances to Henley Finals

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Both Harvard heavyweight crews have advanced to the finals to be held at the Henley Royal Regatta at Henley-on-Thames, England Sunday, July 6.

The coxless four of Max Meyer-Bosse, Andrew Reed, Peter Scholle, and stroke Andy Holmes will face Leander Club Sunday in defense of the Visitors' Cup Challenge.

Coxswain Will Hakim, Sean Vedrinelle, Ross Jarvis, Matt Carter and stroke Henry Kennelly will take on Newcastle University A Sunday in the Prince Albert Cup Final.

Rowing for South Africa, Vincent Breet '16 will also be in the finals of the Silver Goblets and Nickalls' Challenge Cup, racing with Shaun Keeling against the Netherlands.

The Crimson upended Melbourne University Thursday by 1¾ lengths before narrowly besting Imperial College London and University of the West of England Friday by 2/3 of a length. Saturday, Harvard maintained a six-seat lead over the University of London at the finish to advance to the finals.

The Crimson 4+ defeated Exeter University easily in the first round before besting University College London by three lengths Thursday. The greatest test thus far for Harvard came against the Imperial College London, as the Crimson won by 1¾ lengths.
