NEW YORK – Former Harvard rower Henrik Rummel '09 was honored at the third annual Golden Oars Awards dinner at the New York Athletic Club after being named USRowing Male Athlete of the Year.
Selected after a vote cast by athletes and coaches of the 2013 Senior National team, Rummel most recently took home bronze with the men's four at the 2013 World Rowing Championships. A six-time national team athlete, Rummel was a bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympics and won gold with the men's four at the world cup in Lucerne.
Rummel and USRowing Female Athlete of the Year Kate Bertko will continue their training with a goal of selection for the 2016 Olympic Team.
