CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's basketball team has been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2018-19 season. This is the sixth consecutive year the program has earned the accolade.
The Team Academic Excellence Award celebrates programs across all divisions that achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 academic year. This marks the sixth-straight year Harvard has earned the award, tying Yale for the longest streak by an Ivy League school. Harvard is one of 40 Division I programs to garner the award, and one of just two Ivies to receive the honor.
In addition to its success in the classroom, Harvard compiled a 19-12 record en route to its seventh Ivy League title in the last nine years and an appearance in the second round of the NIT.
