Bassey was an honorable mention All-Ivy honoree last season, and earns his first-career Player of the Week honor (Tim Cowie).
PRINCETON, N.J. – Following a standout weekend performance on both ends of the floor, junior guard Justin Bassey has been named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week for Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
Bassey led the Crimson with 11.5 points per game on the weekend, while grabbing 6.0 rebounds in a pair of victories over Yale (64-49) and Brown (68-47). He also shot 77.8 percent from the field, and 66.7 percent from 3-point range. Defensively, Bassey led the charge in holding both Yale and Brown under 50 points, defending the top scorer on both teams. The Denver native held Yale's Miye Oni to 3-for-15 shooting, and Brown's Desmond Cambridge to 1-for-13 shooting.
The award was shared with Princeton's Myles Stephens, and is the first weekly honor of Bassey's career. Harvard moved to 3-1 on the season in Ivy play, including a 10-7 overall record.
