Ivy League Releases Basketball Television Schedule, Harvard Games Featured 37 Times

Harvard will play 15 games on the ESPN family and 15 on NESN (Gil Talbot).

PRINCETON, N.J. – Crimson fans hoping to catch the Harvard men's and women's basketball teams on television this season will have plenty of chances. On Tuesday, the Ivy League announced its complete television slate for the basketball season and the Crimson will hit the airwaves 37 times this season. The men are scheduled for 22 televised games, while the women have 15, both of which rank first in the Ivy League.

Harvard Athletics had previously announced an agreement with NESN in September, with the women's squad having eight home games broadcast on NESN or NESNplus and the men having six home contests aired. The men's road game at Brown (Jan. 27) is also scheduled to be aired on NESNplus. Both of the men's first two home games, against MIT (Nov. 10) and Massachusetts (Nov. 12), will be broadcast on NESN. The women's game at Lavietes Pavilion on Nov. 18 against Sacred Heart is its first shown on NESNplus.

The Wooden Legacy tournament, running Nov. 23-26, will be broadcast by the ESPN family of networks, and will mark the first three of nine total games on an ESPN channel this season for the men. The opener against Saint Mary's on Thanksgiving Day will be shown on ESPNEWS, and depending on how the Crimson advances in the bracket, its final two games of the tournament could be shown on ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS or ESPN3.

Set to be seen on ESPN's flagship channel for just the second time in program history, the men's bout with Kentucky is set for a 3:30 p.m. broadcast on ESPN Dec. 2.

The Harvard women will also be featured on ESPN3 six times this season, beginning with its home duel against Dartmouth Jan. 20. The Crimson will then have five straight games on ESPN3 starting Feb. 3 at home against Cornell. Its next four games, road contests at Princeton, Penn, Brown and Yale are all slated for ESPN3 broadcast. Each game on the ESPN3 will also be simulcast on the Ivy League Network.

Both the men and women will appear on SNY when they visit Columbia. The men's trip to the Big Apple is set for Feb. 2, while the women cap the regular season in New York March 3.

Three men's Ivy clashes will be broadcast on ESPNU, including both contests against Princeton and the home meeting with Yale. Ending the season, the men's and women's Ivy League Tournaments will again be broadcast by ESPN, with the semifinals set for broadcast on ESPNU, ESPN2 and ESPN3. The men's final can be viewed on ESPN2 and the women's on ESPNU.
